Ahhh, who doesn't love a summer afternoon reading in the sunshine? Or a rainy morning, snuggled in a cozy blanket with your favorite book?
As August draws to a close and school begins once more, here are some of the books I've read and enjoyed this summer!
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis - This was the first time I read the entire series from front to back and I was captivated, so much so that I was in tears at the end of The Last Battle (book 6).
When Calls the Heart Series by Janette Oke - Sweet and much more real-life-like - unlike the Hallmark series.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein - Goodness, between Tolkein and Lewis, who both wrote such engaging, yet profoundly deep and encouraging books, we have all we need!
Miriam's Forgiveness by yours truly, heehee :) - perhaps someday it will be published to share with y'all! 🩷
Elsie Dinsmore series by Martha Finley - I read this when I was younger and didn't love it, but this time it brought me to tears multiple times!
Ishmael and Self-Raised by E.D.E.N. Southworth, Lamplighter books - Ohhh, what more can I say? They are Lamplighter books! I greatly enjoyed reading both.
A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton-Porter - This was a brand new read for me and I loved it!
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery - Such a beautiful classic! It is countless the times I have read through you, old friend. I shall read the rest of the series as autumn begins! :)
There you have it! Some of my favorite books from the summertide's reading. Which ones have you read?
